The Juhu Parle Education Society, which is running the Utpal Shanghvi School and Prabhavati Padamshi Soni International Junior College, has believed in providing quality education at an affordable price ever since 1982.

With rich experience and qualified staff, the Management is confident in providing the same quality in Training to teachers who are working /will be working in other schools and colleges. We will share the of expertise at our end and couple it with the research and curriculum offered by the University of Cambridge International Examinations. 

Hence the, Management has decided to introduce the Cambridge International Diploma in Teachers and Trainers (CIDTT) w.e.f. September 2010.  

It is an added on value to introduce the teacher to get an international exposure to deliver curriculum/syllabus offered by any Board. It is essentially for continuing professional development.

It develops competence in design, practice assessment and evaluation and fosters reflection and practice based enquiry. Trainers/ Teachers to be dynamic professionals who see their role as facilitators rather than lecturers. It is ideal for anyone who wishes to develop their thinking or practice quality of teaching and learning.

Curriculum:

The Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers is

·  A practice–based qualification for continuing professional development,

·   Provides clear up-to-date and valued performance standards

·   Develops skills, knowledge and understanding involved in teaching

·   Enables candidates to work in contexts most relevant to them

·   Enhances one's practice and helps one to become versatile and flexible

·    Helps one to become more Reflective, Responsive, Resourceful, Confident, Capable and Creative in his chosen field

·    Provides an international benchmark of excellence.

Structure of the Diploma

     The Diploma consists of 4 core modules

1. Design : Planning and preparation

2. Practice : Teaching and learning in action

3. Assessment : assessing progress and achievement

4. Evaluation : improving teaching and learning.

Each module has a practice–based assignment

Assessment and performance criteria:

·  Candidates are assessed by assignments on-line, one of each of the four core Modules.

·  The assignments are practical and are based on day to day professional work.

Certification

       CIE awards certificates (CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL DIPLOMA FOR TEACHERS AND   TRAINERS) to those who successfully complete all four core modules.

 Admission Criteria:

· CIDTT is not an alternative to B.Ed. However, the Diploma equips an aspiring teacher to enhance her performance and skills to global standards.

·  Open to all aspiring teachers, full time or part-time teachers teaching at all levels from Nursery to college, cutting across all boards.                                                                                          

Training details;

Duration: Eight months

1st batch Sept 2010
2nd batch June 2011
The 3rd batch begins from June 2012

Besides workshops and activities, once a week regular session  of 2 hours duration will be conducted. Workshops will be conducted as per the module requirements and it will be half or full day sessions as per the need.

Recognition

CIE qualifications are recognized throughout the world.

This means that candidates who successfully complete the CIE qualification have the opportunity to progress further on the pathway of Faculty programmes, provided that they can fulfill the other entry requirements for these programmes. CIE Teacher Qualifications also have local recognition in various parts of the world.
